Job Description: Channel Development Associate

Department: Sales/ Channel Development

Reports to: Director Sales/ Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Summary:

The Channel Development Associate will be responsible for assisting in the development, management, and expansion of distribution channels for rms Pakistan. This role involves relationship building, market research, sales strategy execution, and optimizing partnerships with corporate & individual clients, partnerships, associations & affinity groups. The Associate will gain firsthand experience in channel development and sales, with the opportunity to gain experience & grow into a leadership role within rms Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in identifying and onboarding new business channels such as corporate & individual clients, partnerships, associations & affinity groups.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with channel partners to enhance sales and revenue generation.
  3. Support in negotiations and agreements with potential business partners.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of new channels.

Sales & Business Growth:

  1. Work closely with Director Sales/ COO & the sales team to achieve business targets through different channels.
  2. Assist in the development and execution of sales strategies for different market segments.
  3. Track and analyze performance data for each channel and recommend improvements.
  4. Support in designing commission structures, incentives, and engagement plans for partners.

Market Research & Analysis:

  1. Conduct market research to identify new growth opportunities and industry trends.
  2. Analyze competitor strategies and recommend actions to stay competitive.
  3. Assist in evaluating customer needs and feedback to enhance product offerings.

Training & Development:

  1. Participate in training sessions related to insurance products, sales techniques, and channel management.
  2. Assist in the development of training materials for channel partners.
  3. Support partners in understanding insurance products and compliance requirements.

Digital & Technological Integration:

  1. Assist in leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance distribution capabilities.
  2. Support in integrating Insurtech solutions to streamline channel management.
  3. Work with IT and marketing teams to develop digital sales channels.

Relationship Management & Customer Experience:

  1. Maintain strong relationships with channel partners and clients.
  2. Work on customer engagement strategies to improve retention and satisfaction.
  3. Address queries and concerns of partners to ensure smooth collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Education: Minimum bachelor's or master's degree
  2. Experience: 0-2 years of experience in channel development, sales, or business development (insurance industry experience is a plus).

Skills:

  1. Persuasive communication and people skills.
  2. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  4. Understanding of insurance products and sales dynamics (a plus).
  5. Adaptability and eagerness to learn.

  1. Number of new channel partners onboard.
  2. Contribution to revenue generation.
  3. Sales growth through different channels.
  4. Partner satisfaction and engagement levels.
  5. Successful execution of market research and strategy initiatives.
  6. Year 5+: Senior Management roles in Channel Development.
